On behalf of all the members of the Dayton Amateur Radio Association we are pleased to welcome you to Hamvention 2011! Many volunteers have been working very hard for the last year to produce this amazing event. Hamvention requires hundreds of volunteers from around the world all working harmoniously so our guests have as memorable and pleasurable experience as possible. I hope you will join me in thanking these volunteers for their dedicated participation.
It seems as if world events continue to bring forth both major political and geographical upheavals affecting millions of people throughout the world. Amateur radio could not be more relevant or needed than at the present moment. At the heart of these political uprisings and natural disasters are the amateur radio operators who tirelessly hold open the communication lifeline to the outside world. I heard news accounts that during the crisis in the Middle East the internet was shut down for periods and the only communication available was through Amateur Radio.
The theme for Hamvention this year is Global Friendship. Amateur Radio has the unique opportunity to promote friendships not only between countries but between ourselves! Now is the best of times to promote and recruit new members to the hobby. While you are here take the time to make a new friend; promote Global Friendship through Amateur Radio. Thanks again for making the journey here and celebrating Amateur Radio. We wish you all an enjoyable Hamvention!
Em nome de todos os membros da Associação de Rádio Amadores de Dayton temos o prazer de recebê-lo Hamvention 2011! Muitos voluntários têm trabalhado muito duro para o ano passado para produzir esse evento maravilhoso. Hamvention requer centenas de voluntários de todo o mundo, todos trabalhando em harmonia para que os nossos convidados têm experiência tão memorável e agradável possível. Espero que vocês se juntem a mim para agradecer os voluntários para a sua participação dedicada.
Parece como se os eventos do mundo continuam a trazer os grandes perturbações políticas e geográficas que afetam milhões de pessoas em todo o mundo. Radioamadorismo não poderia ser mais pertinente ou necessária do que no momento atual. No centro destas revoltas políticas e catástrofes naturais são os operadores de rádio amador que incansavelmente manter aberta a linha vital de comunicação para o mundo exterior. Já ouvi relatos notícia de que durante a crise no Oriente Médio a internet foi fechada por períodos e da comunicação disponíveis apenas foi através da Rádio Amadores.
O tema para este ano é Hamvention Global Amizade. Radioamador tem a oportunidade única de promover a amizade não só entre países mas entre nós! Agora é o melhor dos tempos para promover e recrutar novos membros para o passatempo. Enquanto você estiver aqui tomar o tempo para fazer um novo amigo; promover a amizade global através da Rádio Amadores. Obrigado mais uma vez para fazer a viagem aqui e celebrando Rádio Amador.
